Guittard Chocolate Company has been a leading name in quality chocolate products for over 130 years and four generations. Etienne Guittard journeyed to the Barbary Coast in the mid 1800's in search of gold. Although, he never found it, San Francisco discovered him for the delicious chocolate he had brought from his uncle's factory in France. Already skilled as a chocolate maker, Etienne established the Guittard Chocolate Factory on San Francisco's prestigious Sansome Street in 1868.
Etienne's grandson, Horace A. Guittard, directed the company's embrace of automated production, orchestrating a synergistic marriage between modern equipment and his grandfather's time tested methods to further develop Guittard's distinctive Old World flavor characteristics and quality. In 1954 he moved the company to where it stands today, continuing the tradition of quality and commitment that have been the strength of the Guittard Chocolate Company for generations.
Guittard Caramel Syrup has a rich caramel flavor that is fabulous on ice cream, superb in coffee and will beautifully accent any dessert. A Guittard family favorite recipe, made from brown sugar, fresh butter and real vanilla, Caramel Syrup transforms an ordinary espresso and milk beverage into a rich and creamy extraordinary Caramel Latte. Caramel Syrup can be used in granitas or any frozen drink as well.
